While compiling
Chicken Soup for the Canadian
Soul, Janet had the fascinating
experience of speaking with many of Canada's greatest heroes.
As a result, the book contains stories written in the first person
from people like Canada's sweetheart - legendary swimmer Marilyn
Bell di Lascio, world champion figure skaters
Barbara Underhill and Paul
Martini, fiddler Natalie MacMaster,
Canada's Man in Motion Rick Hansen,
along with other celebrated Canadians like Paul Henderson,
Kurt Browning, Jann Arden,
Pamela Wallin and award winning
cartoonist Lynn Johnston, just to
name a few. As well, Toronto Star reporter Leslie Scrivener
shares with us the story we all carry in our hearts, The Legacy
of Terry Fox. Ryan Hrlejac
who builds wells in Africa, and Craig Keilburger
who fights against child slavery are a new generation of young
Canadian heroes represented in the book. Many of these encounters
were life altering for Janet because while sharing with her their
stories of passion and triumph straight from their hearts, these
inspiring individuals also revealed some of the secrets of their
success..

Janet's
presentations are full of hard won insights, wisdom and passion,
delivered through the magic of story telling. As she shares her
personal story along with the stories of a few very special others,
let her inspire, captivate and entertain you as you begin moving
towards your own incredible life breakthroughs.
After graduating from Ryerson University Janet
spent twenty years producing fashion photography in Toronto's
fast paced advertising industry - a career she loved. When it
was time for a new direction, she tried a number of different
things and watched as her energy and joy in life plummeted. When
she was invited to produce two Chicken
Soup for the Soul titles
she instantly accepted!
When Jack Canfield
then invited her to co-author of Chicken
Soup for the Canadian Soul,
she jumped at the chance to help create this unique Canadian book.
Working on it became a labour of love - completing it became her
dream and her passion, and it was this passion that helped her
overcome the obstacles along the way. The
lovely early September day in 2002 when the book was launched
felt like her own equivalent of winning an Olympic gold medal.
The book shot to the top of the best seller lists, and because
of her dynamic interview style, Janet found herself in demand
as a guest on countless radio and TV talk shows all across Canada.
